Valentine Heart Butterflies

Create these cute candy butterflies to be used as party favors or Valentine's exchange treats! They are easy and fun to make!

Total Time: 15 min

Supplies

* One Butterfly will need the following:

1 Clothespin (color with a marker or paint)

1 Pipe Cleaner (red, pink and purple work great)

1 Zip-Loc sandwich bag

10 R.M. Palmer foiled candy hearts (Peanut Butter, Fudge, Double Crisp and/or Milk Chocolate Flavored)

Directions

  1. Color your clothespin with paint or a marker.
  2. Fill a zip-lock bag with 10 hearts all facing the same direction in the bag. You can use all the same flavor or an assortment.
  3. Try to get a lot of the air out of the bag and seal it closed.
  4. Fold over the seal a few times in order to hide the extra bag.
  5. Pinch the middle of the bag, separating the hearts so that there is an even amount on both sides, creating the butterfly wings.
  6. Using a pipe cleaner that you cut in half, twist around the pinched bag to keep it pinched. (Image A)
  7. Clip the clothespin over the center of the wings to create the butterfly body. (Image B)
  8. Curl the ends of the pipe cleaner to make the butterfly antennas.
  9. Repeat to make more butterflies!
