SPOOKtacular Candy Dish

Do you double dog dare to take a piece of Palmer® candy from this Halloween candy dish? All smiles by day, SPOOKtacular by night, this candy dish is the perfect way to display your Palmer candy at work or home.

Total Time: 30 min.

Supplies

  • 1 bag of Palmer® Twisted Pumpkins
  • 1 carvable fake pumpkin
  • 1 spider decoration
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Marker/pencil
  • Carving tools
  • Paint brush
  • Glue gun and glue sticks (optional)

Directions

Step 1

With your marker/pencil, draw out the face on the best surface space of your fake pumpkin. With a carving tool, carefully cut out the shapes and smooth out any jagged edges. Paint the interior of your pumpkin with the black acrylic paint—you may have to paint two coats. Let each coat dry completely before continuing.

Step 2

If you are more experienced with carving, use your carving tools to remove the orange paint from sections of your pumpkin (this technique was used to give our pumpkin teeth) to add dimension to the carving. Add your spider (you can also use a bat, ghost, witch’s hat or another pumpkin instead) to the top of your pumpkin with the stem that the decorative item comes with. Poke a hole in the top of the pumpkin and insert. If no stem is provided, just use some hot glue and glue into place. Fill with Palmer® candy.

Note: Add cobwebs and a battery operated light inside to complete your SPOOKtacular Candy Dish!
