Hoppy Trails Layer Cake
This cake will be the centerpiece of your Easter celebrations, complete with our new Hoppy Trails bunny and chocolate eggs for the whole gang.
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- Vegetable oil
- Eggs as instructed by cake mix
- 2 containers vanilla frosting
- 2 bags of shredded coconut
- 10 drops of green food coloring
- 1 Palmer® Hoppy Trails Bunny
- 1 bag Palmer® Caramel Easter Eggs
NOTE: Adult supervision required.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 2 round cake pans.
Combine ingredients as instructed by cake mix box in a large bowl. Divide batter into both cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes and remove to cooling racks to cool completely.
In a mixing bowl, add ten drops of green food coloring to coconut and mix until you reach the desired green color. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, add ten drops of green food coloring to 1 1/2 tubs of frosting and mix until desired green color is reached. Set aside the remaining 1/2 tub of frosting.
Remove one cake from its pan and place on a serving platter. Frost the top of the first cake with the white frosting and place second cake on top. Using the green frosting, frost the entire cake. Once the entire cake is frosted, take the green coconut and cover the sides and top of the cake. Place the Hoppy Trails Bunny onto the top of the cake and the Palmer® Caramel Easter Eggs around the bottom and enjoy!
